The Whitecourt Trailblazers club was founded in 1979 and the Snowmobile Invasion is part of their 35th Anniversary celebration. One of the largest snowmobiling clubs in Canada, the Trailblazers are a group of 550+ members who regularly donate their time to promoting their sport, and to maintaining 465 kms of trail systems in the Whitecourt area. These trails include portions of the Trans-Canada Trail System and the Golden Triangle System. The club works year round to help promote the area as a winter tourism destination. They sponsor an annual snowmobile rally that highlights their sport and encourages fellow Albertans to get outside and enjoy the wonders of Canadian winters. For each of the last five years, the rally has drawn participation from more than 800 riders.
