This year’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market convention in Salt Lake City takes place this week amid a continued growth spurt in the outdoor industry.
A recent report by Kampgrounds of America showed that more millennials than ever before were enjoying camping. The age group 25-35 represented the biggest increase in camping behaviors. The report also notes a growing reliance of technology among campers, which is exactly what outdoor retailers like to hear.
The plethora of outdoor gadgets at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer show is staggering with everything from climbing, hiking, camping, flying paddling and more. Among 1,600 brands, 100,000 square feet and around 50,000 people are the products and accessories that might make its way into your very own backpack someday.
New at this year’s conference is a BoardWalk featuring a full complement of Stand-Up Paddleboards, recognizing the growing segment of the outdoor industry dominated by SUPs. The week begins on Tuesday with the Open Air Demo. Convention floor opens on Wednesday.
