Alaskan Bush Catering Featured in Outdoor Channel Show

As if there was another aspect of life in Alaska that was not captured by a reality TV film crew, producers at the Outdoor Channel are unveiling this week a show about Alaskan bush catering.

The show premiering 7 pm Saturday called Alaska’s Wild Gourmet follows the Ewing family, who run Red Hot Cooking catering in Kodiak, Alaska.

Since 2012, the family has catered to fishermen and hunters on exclusive outings in some of the roughest terrain. But that doesn’t mean they have to skimp on gourmet delights.

The story centers around a bearded hillbilly hipster and classically trained chef, Bradley Ewing. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and a former head chef, he leaves nothing behind in the outdoors.

One of the beauties of the show appears to be its focus on fresh, wild ingredients, from wild mushrooms and greens to fresh caught salmon and big game like bear and elk.

“Rugged, raw and now cooked – this is the last culinary frontier where one chef is redefining what it means to eat like a wild man,” a description for the show states.
