Watch Top High Flying Action from Red Bull Big Air

The weather conditions cooperated in Cape Town, South Africa recently for perhaps the biggest, most insane Red Bull King of the Air kite surfing competition yet.

For the fourth year in a row, Red Bull held its signature kite surfing event in one of the windiest cities on the planet also known for big swells. More than 13,000 spectators came out to watch 24 athletes compete.

The two factors of wind and waves came together in dramatic fashion Sunday Feb 7 for a contest that sent competitors flying through the air with the greatest of ease.

With a lift of the kite and wave ahead, the kite surfers launch into the air pulling flips and spins like a circus acrobat dangling from trapeze, only these trapeze can just go up and up.

At this year’s event, the UK’s Aaron Hadlow claimed victory for the second year in a row ahead of Hawaiian Jess Richman who won in 2013 and Kevin Langeree from the Netherlands who won in 2014.
